What technique does the Nannolight MP50 use?
This device emits a very pure shaft of light. This light energy is converted into heat (70 to 80°C). Melanin or oxyhaemoglobin are used as a conductor to the hair root. The hair roots are damaged so that new hair growth is no longer possible.

How does the treatment work in practice?
During your first visit we discuss your medical history. Some drugs result in a higher sensitivity to light and have to be taken into account during the treatment. This treatment is not permitted when you are pregnant. The beauty specialist will draw up a treatment programme with you and discuss the expected results. This is followed by a test treatment to determine the best energy level for your skin type.

Is the treatment painless?
Clients find this treatment extraordinarily comfortable thanks to the cooled hand piece (-5°C) that touches the skin.

Is the treatment safe?
Safety is the most important thing. The American safety regulations are the most stringent in the world. Each Nannolight MP50 therapist is professionally trained.

Are there any side effects?
When the flash of light reaches the hair root you experience a slight tingling sensation where cutaneous nerves are close to the surface. The warmth generated during the treatment can be compared to the feeling of sunburn. If this is does occur it soon disappears, usually within a few hours, and it is not unpleasant.

Can I sunbathe or use a sunbed?
Sunbathing and the use of sunbeds must be avoided for about four weeks before the treatment and throughout the course. If contact with the sun cannot be avoided, we recommend a sun cream with a protection factor of over 30 (sun block). Once the course of treatment is complete, you have to wait at least another month before exposing your skin to the sun again.

Is the use of self-tanning creams permitted?
Self-tanning products contain a substance that reacts with light. Consequently we advise against the use of such products for one week before and one week after the treatment.

How much does a course of treatment cost?
The enclosed price list gives you an idea of this. You will have to take at least six treatment sessions to achieve the desired result. The darker the hair, the better the desired result.

Can Nannolight remove all hair?
The system only works on hair in the growth phase. This is not always the case, because a growth phase is followed by a rest phase. So only part of the unwanted hair is actually dealt with during each treatment session. This is why several sessions are needed to achieve the best result. Satisfied clients (pale skin and darker hair) need about six treatment sessions for a 95% reduction in hair. The hair cannot grow back, as IPL permanently damages the hair bulbs. However, new hair bulbs can be produced, from which new hairs can grow. This means that one treatment session is needed every year or two to maintain the desired result.
