In December 1996, the family Van der Zijpen opened the thermal centre Thermae Grimbergen.

The centre started as a small Sauna & Beautyfarm, but got bigger through the years. Because we experienced the need of a place where one could relax with bathing suit, in 2004 we opened a new thermal complex, only accessible with bathing suit, called Palmeraie. The other part, where one can bathe without wearing a bathing suit, was called Aquarius. Both centres offer a large scale of thermal facilities, such as saunas, Jacuzzis, steambath etc.

To desinfect our waters, we don’t use chlorine anymore, but we use hydrogen peroxyd. This test project is running in cooperation with the laboratory Labo Derva and the Ministry of Public Health. Hydrogen peroxyd is odorless, and is not harmfull for our body, in contrast to chlorine.

As well in our thermal baths, as in the beautyfarm, we handle to highest quality standards and work with the most recent techniques, to offer our clients the best service.
